7 Books I Vow To Read in 2016 | Cleaning Up My Wish List

I hope 2016 will be a better reading year for me and I will finally manage to read 100 books this year. I'll start it very ambitiously and tell you some of the books that I definitely will read in 2016. I'm calling this ambitious because I don't even own 90% of these. I should though.

ANOTHER DAY - David Levithan
I've been talking about this almost since the day it was announced that my favorite novel EVERY DAY would get a companion novel. Why haven't I read this? Why don't I own this? What is wrong with me?

THE WRATH AND THE DAWN - Renee Ahdieh
One of those novels that everyone was talking about in 2015. I'm not sure about the premise, something about a boy king getting all his future brides killed? I just know that it's set in an oriental inspired world and all my friends loved it, so I vow to read this.

MAGNUS CHASE AND THE GODS OF ASGARD - Rick Riordan
I'm always craving books about Norse mythology. The king of mythology YA wrote this, so I basically don't even have a choice here.

CINDER - Marissa Meyer
I know, it's absolutely ridiculous that I'm the last one on this planet that hasn't read this. Fairytale retelling. Space. I have to.

LAST SACRIFICE - Richelle Mead
I've been putting off reading this for almost 6 months. Very strange, considering the fact that I read the first five books within a month. I just wasn't a fan of the fifth one and am scared of this series to end horribly. I vow to do this in 2016.

THE LAST OLYMPIAN - Rick Riordan
This is so long overdue. I need to finish the series.

THESE BROKEN STARS - Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

I've been loving these covers from the minute this book started appearing EVERYWHERE. Everyone and their mothers has read it and I just don't understand why I haven't. Let's change this.

Top 10 Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year | Top Ten Tuesday

My wish list on Amazon has now reached a ridiculous size. At this point, I have no hope of ever buying everything on there.
Here are the top ten books I hope to finally cross off my list and find under my christmas tree. Well, a girl can dream.

 10. THE CIRCLE - Matts Strandberg & Sara Bergmark Elfgren

My friend recommended this to me. Witches and lesbians. I mean, come on, I need to read this ASAP.

9. ALIENATED - Melissa Landers
I have no idea how many posts I have stating this as the next purchase (this time for sure!!!). It's about an alien exchange student coming to live with a human. I need this book.

8. REBOOT - Amy Tintera
People are getting revived, but they're NOT zombies. I need this,

7. BLACK WIDOW: FOREVER RED: Margaret Stohl
I'm honestly so, so, so curious. I love the avengers and honestly, no matter which avenger this was about, I'd be excited regardless.

6. HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE - J.K. Rowling
The illustrated one. No explanation needed.

 5. EVERYTHING LEADS TO YOU - Nina La Cour
Contemporary with lesbians. Yup. Another candidate that has been on my wish list for aaaaaaaaages.

4. ANOTHER DAY - David Levithan
The sequel to my favorite book. It's beyond me why I don't own this yet.

3. ILLUMINAE - Amy Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
Everyone got an ARC of this book at BEA and at this point I am so jealous, it's gettign painful. I need this.

2. INTERSTELLAR - Grey Keyes
The novelization of my favorite movie. Of course I need this.

1. MAGNUS CHASE AND THE GODS OF ASGARD - Rick Riordan

I might be the last person to discover the brilliance of Rick Riordan (I haven't even finished the PJO series, shame on me!!), but when I found out about this series I almost fainted. I love love love love love Norse mythology and this book series is a dream come true.

What's the book you hope to find under your Christmas tree?

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme originating from The Broke and the Bookish. Every Tuesday they choose topics that we are supposed to create a list about, considering our personal reading preferences.

Waiting on Wednesday: Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard by Rick Riordan

Here's the deal: I know that this will probably not live up to Percy Jackson and I know that it's weird that he redoes the whole thing just with Norse gods again. But listen, I'm OBSESSED with mythology.

Since YA authors are all over the Greeks, I haven't had the chance to dive into Norse mythology in fiction nearly as much as I would have liked to and THIS IS MY CHANCE. It's a guilty pleasure and yeah, I know that I'm not necessarily in the target audience. Shh.

Release Date: October 6th 2015

Synopsis:

"Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother’s mysterious death, he’s lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he’s tracked down by a man he’s never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. The man tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god.

The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years.

When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision.

Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . "
