Meet My Book Boyfriends feat. The Seafarer's Kiss, Starflight & more

Meet the reason why I stuck with most of these book series.

Sometimes cute boys are 100% a reason to keep on reading and swooning!

Magnus from BOYS THAT BITE by Mari Mancusi
One of my first book boyfriends ever! Magnus is the most awkward vampire you'd ever meet and I love him to death. He's so weird.

This series is awfully underrated in general, if you like humor and vampires, this is such a fabulous pick.

Lieutenant Paul Markov from A THOUSAND PIECES OF YOU by Claudia Gray
If you know me, you know that he's e v e r y t h i n g.

Lieutenant Paul is the shy royal guard of Duchess Marguerite in the Russia!verse and I love him more than anything in the world. Cute boys who love science are the best. Don't let this pretty white boy fancast fool you into thinking this is a book you should pick up though, make sure to read my linked review because this book features dubious consent.

Pyotr from VINEGAR GIRL by Anne Tyler
Another Eastern European scientist for the win! Pyotr is a sassy little dork. He's hilarious, with a smokin' bod and sometimes a little shy. I love him.

Dimitri Belikov from VAMPIRE ACADEMY by Richelle Mead
By now you've probably noticed that I tend to have a type.

Dorky Eastern European dudes are always at risk of joining this list. Dimitri is one half of the biggest OTP I have - him and Rose make the perfect badass fighting vampire couple and calm
and collected Dimitri is the perfect match for hot-headed Rose.

Doran Spaulding from STARFLIGHT by Melissa Landers
This one's a first. I usually don't like the rich arrogant billionaire type but something about dear old Doran really got me. I'll tell you once I manage to pinpoint it.

Havamal from THE SEAFARER'S KISS by Julia Ember
I'm actually so embarrassed by this because the book has a sapphic main couple. And of course, problematic me is swooning all over the dude. Havamal is an aspiring king's guard and an absolutely ripped merman with a heart of gold. I mean, come on. How was I supposed to resist. Christ.

Who are your book boyfriends?

Most Anticipated New Releases of 2016 | Top Ten Tuesday

Here are my Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases for 2016! Can't believe the year is about to end.

10. FIRSTLIFE – Gene Showalter: Life after death has always fascinated me, I can’t wait.
9. STARFLIGHT – Melissa Landers: I feel like everyone in the blogosphere has either already read this or heard of it. I need it, I’m a sucker for everything space.
8. HEARTLESS – Marissa Meyer: I haven’t read her Lunar Chronicles, but since she’s coming out with a new fairytale-ish retelling next year, I’m going to hop on the band waggon!

7. THE GIRL FROM EVERYWHERE – Heidi Heilig: I just love everything time travel and this sounds like it might teach me a lot about different cultures. I’m ready!
6. PASSENGER – Alexandra Bracken: Pirates. I’m not passing up a pirate read, come on.
5. RIDERS – Veronica Rossi: The minute this was announced, I was ready. I love the riders of the apocalypse and every single fictionalized version of them. Gimme.

4. GLITTERING COURT – Richelle Mead: I’m about to finish the Vampire Academy series. I have no clue was this is about, but my girl Richelle wrote this. She could write two sentences on a piece of paper in kajal and I’d still buy it.
3. HEIR TO THE SKY – Amanda Sun: The synopsis made me laugh. Apparently, in this one someone falls off the edge of the world. I don’t even need to know more, this got me hooked. Oh my god.
2. WINK POPPY MIDNIGHT – April Genevieve Tucholke: Unreliable narrators and magical realism: How to hook me 101.

1. THE LAST BEGINNING – Lauren James:

Good news, I will be shutting up about James’ debut THE NEXT TOGETHER soon, because the sequel is about to be published! If you love time travel and strange internet humor, I strongly suggest this brilliant read! Okay, but the sequel has a lesbian couple as protagonists (if I’m not mistaken) and I think I was born ready for this.
(no this is not the final cover, it was the only edit I could find so I wasn't forced to make a godawful one myself in paint.

Expected publication: November 2016 by Walker Books

Waiting on Wednesday: Starflight by Melissa Landers

I haven't read Alienated by her before, but I've read excellent reviews about it everywhere. I still don't know when I'm going to get it, but it's definitely on my TBR, just like Starflight. I love novels about aliens and sci-fi elements in YA. Also her beautiful cover art is definitely contributing to me wanting to buy this.

Release Date: February 2nd 2016

Synopsis:
"Life in the outer realm is a lawless, dirty, hard existence, and Solara Brooks is hungry for it. Just out of the orphanage, she needs a fresh start in a place where nobody cares about the engine grease beneath her fingernails or the felony tattoos across her knuckles. She's so desperate to reach the realm that she's willing to indenture herself to Doran Spaulding, the rich and popular quarterback who made her life miserable all through high school, in exchange for passage aboard the spaceliner Zenith.
When a twist of fate lands them instead on the Banshee, a vessel of dubious repute, Doran learns he's been framed on Earth for conspiracy. As he pursues a set of mysterious coordinates rumored to hold the key to clearing his name, he and Solara must get past their enmity to work together and evade those out for their arrest. Life on the Banshee may be tumultuous, but as Solara and Doran are forced to question everything they once believed about their world--and each other--the ship becomes home, and the eccentric crew family. But what Solara and Doran discover on the mysterious Planet X has the power to not only alter their lives, but the existence of everyone in the universe..."
